Week of July 24 - August 4
Welcome back, everyone! I am happy to have you in class this semester. Please check this site often for worked out solutions to homework and test review problems. We begin this week with classifying, adding, subtracting and multiplying polynomials. Additionally, we will learn how to construct Pascal's Triangle and to use the patterns in the triangle to expand binomials.
Poly Vocabulary Notes
Polynomial Multiplication Notes with Mixed Practice Solutions
Pascal's Triangle Notes and Examples
Week of August 7 - 11
Monday: Polynomial long division.
Long Division Homework Solutions
Tuesday: Extra practice with long division and its applications
Still need help with long division? Visit Mathopolis for step-by-step assistance. Complete the practice
problems after the tutorial.
Wednesday: Begin factoring polynomials with the GCF and Grouping Patterns
Friday: Factoring quadratic trinomials and polynomials reducible to quadratic form
The key to your survival will be to learn these factoring patterns! We will use them time and time again. Remember, practice makes perfect. Come with your questions on Monday and be prepared to add on. We will learn to factor binomials on Monday and have three additional special patterns. Test will be at the end of the week (Thursday or Friday).
Week of August 14 - 18

Tuesday: Factoring the sum and difference of cubes
Wednesday: More factoring practice (all patterns mixed)
Thursday: Review for test
Week of August 21 - 25
Monday: Begin solving by factoring. Concepts to know: The Zero Product Property and the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra
Tuesday: More solving by factoring.
